Heather Ferguson, LCSW is a psychotherapist, psychoanalyst, and clinical supervisor. In private practice since 1995, Heather works primarily with adolescents and adults in individual psychotherapy. Heather specializes in treating eating disorders, anxiety, and trauma. Heather is also certified in Clinical Hypnosis and EMDR.

My journey
My journey
After graduating from Columbia University School of Social Work in 1988, Heather began her career in college mental health at Saint Mary’s University Counseling Service and later joined the New York University Counseling Service, honing a specialty in eating disorder and trauma treatment with a diverse client population. In 1995, Heather began her private practice.

Heather completed psychoanalytic training in individual and group psychoanalysis. She has augmented her 35 years of clinical practice with training in Clinical Hypnosis, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). She is current faculty and supervisor at the Institute for the Psychoanalytic Study of Subjectivity and the National Institute for the Psychotherapies in New York City.
Heather presents papers and conducts workshops at national and international conferences. Heather is an alumnus and a consultant to The Collective, an International Music School, and is a member of the Music Industry Therapist Collective, providing specialized treatment to artists and musicians.
